Impact.

Alright, you’re planting trees and making the web greener, that’s great but how do I know how much impact that actually has?

When you look at how much carbon dioxide a tree can absorb it’s really one of those “how long is a piece of string” answers. Stay with us – there are a few factors to look at on paper here…

…Paper, like from trees, get it?

Obviously, a new little tree is going to absorb less CO2 than a big hundred-year-old tree. Just like people, really. The bigger you are, the more you consume to stay alive. When you also throw in factors like the species of the tree, where it lives, how much sun it gets, and how healthy it is, the answer will be a little different each time.

We partner with Carbon Neutral and The Green Web Foundation:

They simplify the process of delivering a greener internet and identifying carbon-neutral websites. Carbon Neutral plants 30 million trees in Western Australia, which will become even better at removing CO2 in the future.

Offsetting 1 tonne today equals 967,695 tonnes of CO2 over 50 years. They plant 60 varieties of native trees, increasing biodiversity and creating habitats for animals. These efforts exemplify using the internet for good and are easily accessible to everyone.
